Tottenham rival Italian giants for Real Madrid ace; already in touch with agent

Tottenham are vying with AC Milan for the signing of Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, according to reports.

Tottenham’s impressive front three put on a show during their 4-0 rout at Aston Villa on Saturday. Heung-min Son got a hat-trick, Dejan Kulusevski joined him on the scoresheet and got an assist, while Harry Kane registered two assists of his own.

Their form could take Antonio Conte’s side into the Champions League. The north London outfit have usurped Arsenal as the favourites to gain fourth spot.

Despite the deadly nature of Son, Kulusevski and Kane, Tottenham may add to Conte’s forward options this summer.

Club chiefs are looking into the prospect of capturing Paulo Dybala, who will leave Juventus at the end of June. But he is not the only attacker in their sights, as Spain international Asensio joins him on Spurs’ wish list.

The original report provides more detail on their pursuit. Mundo Deportivo state the two clubs made contact with Asensio’s representatives last summer.

Asensio was happy with the transfer interest but opted to remain at Real to work under legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti.

While the Italian has given Asensio 35 appearances this term, he rarely gets the chance to complete a full 90 minutes. This is due to competition from the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.
