Tottenham rival host of clubs as they reignite interest in Filip Kostic ahead of potential UCL return

Tottenham have reportedly reignited their interest in Frankfurt star Filip Kostic, who is a target of multiple sides this summer.

Kostic has been a terrific asset to Frankfurt for the past few seasons. He has scored seven goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions this campaign.

Last season, he amassed a hefty total of 17 assists in the league, as well as scoring four goals. Clearly, he is not only a competent provider, but goalscorer too.

Kostic is able to play in a range of positions. The Serbian is mainly utilised on the left side of the field, either as a winger, or in a deeper role, at wing-back.

As such, he would fit nicely into Tottenham‘s system in either position. The north London side have reportedly reignited their interest in the Frankfurt man, per The Independent.

Their previous interest spanned from the January transfer window. Since then, Kostic has continued to perform, and even has a Europa League medal to show for his performances.

The 29-year-old scored three goals and provided six assists in Frankfurt’s European campaign, as well as scoring a penalty in the nervy final shootout.

European experience is likely something that Spurs are very interested in, and is something Kostic has in abundance.

Barring a major blunder, Spurs will pip their north London rivals Arsenal to a Champions League spot. Antonio Conte will no doubt be keen on making a success of his first European competition with the club.

Indeed, adding someone like Kostic to the side seems a good piece of business from the Italian manager.

A move from Frankfurt to Tottenham for Kostic could well be one that bears fruit. The Serbian is out of contract next season, and selling up and guaranteeing a fee may be wise for Frankfurt.
