Tottenham ready to cash in on 'colossal' international gem; Conte has barely used him

Tottenham Hotspur could be willing to sanction the sale of central defender Joe Rodon this summer, according to Evening Standard.

Signed from Swansea City for £15million in 2020 (Sky Sports), the 24-year-old has endured a difficult time since arriving in north London.

So far the Wales international has made just 22 appearances for the Lilywhites, starting only nine times in the Premier League.

Despite the arrival of Antonio Conte and a subsequent shift in formation, Rodon has continued an inauspicious start to his Spurs career and a departure could be on the horizon…

As per the Evening Standard report, Tottenham are said to be willing to ‘listen to offers’ for the Welshman.

It’s claimed that Conte and Fabio Paratici are preparing to oversee a clear-out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Harry Winks, Davinson Sanchez, Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon all facing uncertain futures in N17.

Steven Bergwijn is another name tipped with a potential departure as Tottenham look to build a squad fit to challenge for major honours once again.

Whilst it’s been far from a disaster for Rodon at Tottenham, there can be no doubt that the 24-cap ace has flattered to deceive since his arrival.

Hailed for a ‘colossal display’ for Wales against Belgium by BBC Wales Football Correspondent Rob Phillips, the powerful defender still has plenty to offer at the top level but it just isn’t working out in north London.

As Conte looks to raise funds for his own summer transfer targets, the club would be wise to consider reasonable offers for Rodon having watched the Italian coach call on the Welshman on just three occasions this season.
