Tottenham now 'looking into' signing £106m star at Hotspur Way

Tottenham appear to be looking into signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Spurs are in the market for a Hugo Lloris replacement and Oblak is one name on Fabio Paratici’s list of targets.

According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham have drawn up a list of potential replacements for Lloris, who’s entered the final 18 months of his contract in north London.

The Frenchman has been an outstanding servant since his arrival from Lyon more than 10 years ago.

But Lloris will be approaching his 37th birthday at the end of his current terms and it’s unclear whether he’ll be offered one final deal.

Therefore, the report claims Spurs are eyeing a shock move for Oblak, who only signed a contract extension in July and now has a release clause of £106m, but the Spanish giants are prepared to discuss a move away from the Metropolitano Stadium.

Oblak, who’s Spurs’ ‘primary target’, has been Atletico’s number one goalkeeper since he arrived from Benfica eight years ago, and has gone on to play more than 350 games in all competitions.

Tottenham do face competition from Manchester United as Erik ten Hag looks to replace David de Gea, but Jones reckons the north Londoners are serious about the 29-year-old.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It does seem to be one that they’re looking into. I think the most interesting thing here is whether or not he will genuinely be available at the end of the season.”
