Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans argue Man Utd star was ‘disrespected’ during Tottenham game

Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans believe their hero was ‘disrespected’ before he walked down the tunnel before the end of Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The 37-year-old raised eyebrows by leaving the game before the match had finished.

Ronaldo was one of United’s substitutes on the night but went AWOL in the 90th minute.

It was otherwise hugely positive evening for Man Utd, who produced arguably their most impressive team performance so far under Erik ten Hag.

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris had to be at his best during the opening 45 minutes to prevent United taking the lead before half-time.

However, second-half goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes wrapped up a deserved three points for the hosts.

Ten Hag was asked about Ronaldo’s decision to leave the game early in his post-match interview on Amazon Prime.

The Dutch coach said “I will deal with that tomorrow” while effectively confirming that Ronaldo hadn’t been granted permission to head back to the dressing room.
