Tottenham now eyeing 'unbelievable' new target for Conte; Roberto Carlos loves him

Tottenham Hotspur have been warned by Premier League rivals Southampton that their new transfer target, James Ward-Prowse, will not be up for sale this summer.

The 27-year-old has had another fantastic season at St. Mary’s, making an outstanding 17 goal contributions in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Saints, as per Transfermarkt.

The ten-time international will be viewed as a very strong candidate to be selected by Gareth Southgate for England’s World Cup squad later this year, with his impressive performances reportedly catching the eye of multiple top-flight clubs, one of those being the Lilywhites.

According to Sportsmail (The Daily Mail), it’s claimed that Ward-Prowse would be ‘on Tottenham’s radar at the right price’, but the source states that Southampton are ‘determined’ to keep their captain at the club ahead of next season and wouldn’t be willing to listen to any offers placed on the table.

Newcastle are also interested, but the report states the chance to play in European competition could be a big factor for the player, potentially putting Spurs in pole position.

The midfielder still has a solid four years remaining on his current contract, so the Saints hierarchy won’t be under any kind of pressure to sell him, but that doesn’t mean they will be able to stop interest from potential suitors.
