Tottenham have been told to be patient after being linked with Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott, following reports linking the 18-year-old with a move to north London.

“I think it’s difficult because it’s a big step to come from the Championship to the Premier League," former Leeds striker Noel Whelan told Football Insider.

"If Scott comes into Tottenham, there’s going to be a lot of pressure on his shoulders to produce when he comes into the team.

“It’s a massive risk doing these sorts of deals but the one thing I would urge Spurs to be is patient. It takes time to adapt.”

Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon has revealed the positive impact Antonio Conte has had on him as a player following his recent run in the starting XI.

"I feel great in my body, the best I’ve felt since I’ve been at the club," Sessegnon said in an interview for the club's newsletter.

"Yes, for sure, starting five games in a row is the most for me at the club so far, so yes, I’m in a good place physically and mentally, and long may it continue.

"To feel good is obviously very important. Then, the way the manager wants me to play, up and down, up and down, the energy levels have to be there. I’ve shown that in the last few games and that’s good, getting that consistency under my belt."
