Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Wednesday, May 4.
According to Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias, Spurs are expected to make a bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha 'within the month' after being heavily linked with the 26-year-old over the last year. The report claims that Tottenham boss Antonio Conte wants to reinforce his midfield at the end of the current campaign and Palhinha is an 'ideal' candidate to improve the centre of the park.
Palhinha has enjoyed an excellent season with Sporting and has even become a fully-fledged international for Portugal, a hugely impressive achievement when you consider the wealth of talent the Selecao have in midfield.
Spurs wingback Ryan Sesesnon has heaped praise on Argentine centre-half Cristian Romero, admitting that the talented defender trains exactly how he plays on the pitch. "Yeah, every time," admitted the left wing-back when asked if Romero trains the way he plays. "No it's not worrying, he times it so well. Playing against him in training is not ideal, but for us in our team is good."
