Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Saturday, April 16.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso this summer. Spurs are expected to strengthen their backline ahead of the new season and are thought to be keen on adding a left-footed centre-back to their ranks.

According to The Daily Mail, Hermoso is on their radar with the 26-year-old struggling to hold down a place in Diego Simeone’s starting XI. The report also states that Spurs are keeping tabs on RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol and Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni, but both players are expected to cost considerably more.

Hermoso joined Atletico from Espanyol in 2019 and has made 93 appearances for the club, but the arrival of Reinildo Mandava in January has seen his game-time limited. And it’s believed that Spanish side are open to selling him with his contract expiring in two years' time.
