Tottenham: 'Good news' for Paratici over £25m star

Giovani Lo Celso‘s recent form at Villarreal “can only be good news” for Tottenham, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £25m-rated attacker is enjoying a productive loan spell with the Spanish outfit and has helped them reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Lo Celso hardly made any impact under Antonio Conte but is more than making up for lost time with Unai Emery at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Since making the deadline day switch to Spain, the ex-PSG attacker has featured in every league game, plus their four European knockout matches.

Lo Celso is yet to contribute a goal or assist in any of his 15 appearances for the Yellow Submarines, but he has been Villarreal’s seventh-best player, according to WhoScored.

The on-loan Tottenham midfielder is in the top four metrics for key passes, dribbles, and shots per game, while his passing success rate is an impressive 83.5 per cent.

Lo Celso’s form has helped Emery’s side set up a last four date with Liverpool in the Champions League, while they’re also challenging for a top six place in La Liga.

Villarreal are already interested in signing Lo Celso on a permanent deal, and O’Rourke reckons that his recent form can only benefit the club.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It can only be good news for Tottenham if Lo Celso is doing well, it’s going to raise his price tag and it might not just be Villarreal looking to do a deal if Lo Celso continues to shine for them, playing in the Champions League and La Liga, it might bring other teams to the table to sign the Argentine.”

Lo Celso’s form in Spain has proven that he’s by no means a bad footballer, things just didn’t work out for him at Spurs.
