Tottenham: Fresh claim emerges on £13.5m PL star potentially joining Spurs

Leeds winger Jack Harrison is unlikely to join Tottenham this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Harrison has spent the last four years at Elland Road, but he has been linked with a shock move to north London recently.

The 25-year-old has featured regularly for Leeds since they returned to the Premier League, playing 64 top-flight matches since the start of the 2020/21 season.

Last term, he scored eight goals and delivered eight assists in the league as the Yorkshire outfit finished inside the top half of the table.

He has not had quite the same impact in England’s top division this season, but he has still chipped in with six goals and an assist.

His performances have reportedly caught the eye of Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici, who has identified Harrison as a potential summer target.

Given how Leeds have struggled this season, Harrison being linked with a move to a side battling for a Champions League place is somewhat of a surprise.

Jones has admitted that he can understand why Tottenham appreciate Harrison’s skillset, with Leeds boss Jesse Marsch describing him as an “explosive” player, but he does not expect this transfer to go through.

When asked about the prospect of the £13.5m-rated winger moving to Spurs, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t really see that it’s likely. I can see why they might be interested in him at this point, but I don’t see it happening, to be honest with you.”

Harrison has done well at Leeds, and has established himself as a Premier League player over the last two seasons. This would be an odd signing on Tottenham’s part, though, if they did decide to step up their interest in the Englishman.
