Tottenham: 'Elite' 74-goal target 'comparable to Son' at Hotspur Way
Tottenham target Lautaro Martinez is “one of the most enjoyable” players to watch in European football when he’s in full flow, according to Serie A expert Conor Clancy.
The Argentina international has been one of the standout players in Italy in recent years, which has attracted the attention of the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal.
Having scored 74 goals in four seasons at Inter Milan, including a career-best 25 this term, the forward, described as ‘elite‘ by former manager Fabio Radaelli, has established himself as one of the top frontmen in Europe.
As a result, Tottenham were keen on his services when Nuno Espirito Santo was manager last summer and had even agreed a fee with Inter of more than £60m.
Despite Spurs’ interest, Martinez signed a long-term contract less than three months later. But having played some of the best football of his career under Antonio Conte, he’s once again being linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
According to journalist Jacque Talbot, Fabio Paratici is a fan of the Argentine and even tried to sort a deal in January, meaning Martinez could still be on the move this summer, especially with Conte hopeful of finally bringing in another striker to compete with Harry Kane.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “I love him. Lautaro is one of the most enjoyable players in Europe to watch when he’s on it. He’s comparable to Son. He’s not really a number nine or 10, he floats in between those two positions.”

With Champions League football now secured, it promises to be an exciting summer in north London.
But with games coming thick and fast at the start of next season, due to the World Cup, Tottenham simply need to sign another
