Tottenham could soon sign another Djed Spence at Hotspur Way

Tottenham could shop in the Championship once again before the window closes, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Spurs have already signed Djed Spence from second-tier outfit Middlesbrough, the latest in a long list of players to arrive from EFL clubs in recent years.

It’s been a bright start to the season for Antonio Conte’s side, who’ve collected four points from their opening two matches, with Harry Kane’s last-gasp goal at Chelsea extending their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight games.

This comes after a promising transfer window, which has seen Conte bring seven new players to the club, all of which have arrived from top-flight clubs besides Spence.

Spence’s arrival in north London means he joins the likes of Dele Alli, Jack Clarke and Joe Rodon in swapping the EFL to the Premier League.

Alli aside, none of those previously before Spence have proved a success, with Clarke recently leaving permanently for Sunderland after failing to make a league appearance, while Rodon is spending the season on loan at Rennes following a lack of game-time.

Regardless, Brown reckons that Spurs could look towards the Championship market once again in the remainder of the window.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Daniel Levy quite likes a young player, he got Djed Spence in, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to sign another one from the Championship, just to fit into the squad, but Spurs have a lot of players to get rid of.”

With the likes of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison coming off the bench at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, it’s clear to see that Conte is building an impressive squad at Tottenham.
