Tottenham could now sign £22.5m-rated leader for free in summer; he's been called a 'phenomenon'
Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly now sign Boubacar Kamara as a free agent in the summer.
Kamara is out of contract this summer, and is yet to sign a new deal with Marseille.
Thus, he can leave as a free agent from June, and given that he is currently rated at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, it could represent a real bargain for whoever is able to land his signature.
As per Goal, Spurs are one of a number of clubs that are ‘casting admiring glances’ over at Kamara, in a list that also includes fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United and Southampton.
Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in his signature, but the Lilywhites are able to offer a ‘bigger salary and signing bonus’, with Kamara now set to make a final decision on his future in early April.
Given that they would not have to pay a penny in transfer fees, it is surely a no-brainer for the North London club to sign someone with the talent that Kamara has.
Once called a ‘phenomenon‘ by former Marseille teammate Rolando, Kamara is equally as comfortable at playing as a central defender as well as in the heart of midfield, versatility that would be music to the ears of Antonio Conte.
Despite being just 22 years of age, he has also captained his team on a number of occasions in Ligue 1 this season, showing his leadership qualities, and has been a mainstay in the side that has risen to second place in the French top flight, only behind PSG.
Nonetheless, signing Kamara up would represent a very smart piece of business.
