Tottenham: Conte 'trying to sell' £120.2m quartet at Hotspur Way

Tottenham are openly trying to sell Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

The quartet, who cost the north London club £117.2m, were all left out of the recent pre-season tour of South Korea and don’t appear to have a future under Antonio Conte.

According to The Athletic, the four players weren’t picked in the squad that travelled to the Far East because Conte only wants to work with players who are ‘part of his plans’ ahead of the new season.

They all got minutes in some capacity last season, but Winks started just nine Premier League games, Sergio Reguilon lost his place to Ryan Sessegnon and struggled to stay fit, while Ndombele and Lo Celso spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Lyon and Villarreal respectively.

With Spurs strengthening in each of those positions following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and even winter addition Rodrigo Bentancur, the foursome are likely to find game-time hard to come by next term.

As a result, Barclay reckons the hierarchy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are actively looking to get rid of them.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “They’ve got so many players and need to whittle down that squad.

“Four first-team players or four established players were left behind for the South Korea trip, they’re trying to sell all of those and recoup as much money as they can for those guys.”

Despite those four being the only players that were axed from the tour or Korea, there’s plenty of others who could be sold before September’s deadline.

In defence, Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga are both being linked with loan moves away, while Davinson Sanchez’s future is not yet secure despite his encouraging end to last
