Tottenham: Conte could snub European giants to stay at Hotspur Way

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is unlikely to be interested in the Juventus job, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The Italian committed his future to the north London club after their fourth place finish, but he’s been mentioned with a return to the Juventus Stadium with pressure mounting on Massimiliano Allegri.

Conte has made huge strides at Tottenham since he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo almost 11 months ago, but his position in the dugout has never quite been secure.

As a result, whenever a top European job becomes vacant, his name is often thrown into the ring.

When Mauricio Pochettino left PSG, he was linked with a move to the French capital, although Christophe Galtier was eventually appointed, while he could be amongst the runners to replace the under pressure Allegri.

But Conte has already led Tottenham back into the Champions League after a fine end to last term and has made an excellent start to this campaign, with his side just one point behind leaders Arsenal.

Therefore, Brown would be surprised to see Conte leave his post in north London and return to Turin, some eight years after he left them to manage the Italy national team.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “My gut feeling is that Juventus is not probably the one that he would pick if he had choices.

“There’s a little bit of been there done that with Conte, and I think perhaps there might be bigger clubs that he has his eyes and his heart set on, so it’s not a given that if Juventus came back in for him that Conte would jump ship.”

Just days after Tottenham secured their place in Europe’s elite competition following victory at Norwich back in May, Conte agreed to extend his stay at the club.
