Tottenham competing with Inter Milan for Sofyan Amrabat, with Fabio Paratici influence clear

Tottenham are reportedly vying with Inter Milan for the capture of Fiorentina’s Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The 25-year-old has been at plenty of clubs in recent years. He had spells at the likes of Feyenoord, Club Brugge and Hellas Verona before joining Fiorentina in January 2020. He spent the rest of the 2019-20 campaign back at Hellas Verona on loan.

Amrabat is now settled at Fiorentina, having made 24 appearances for them in all competitions this season.

His only goal in that time came during the 2-1 victory over Spezia back in February.

Amrabat, a 34-cap international with Morocco, is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar.

According to Sport Witness, who cite French outlet Foot Mercato, Tottenham are ‘preparing’ for the summer and want to bring Amrabat to the Premier League.

The report claims Antonio Conte’s side were hoping to land him in January. But they couldn’t finalise a deal after failing to get Tanguy Ndombele out of the club quickly enough.

Spurs managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is a big fan of Amrabat and has apparently been keeping tabs on his development for several years.

Due to this, the north London outfit remain in the mix to capture the star.

However, the race for his signature is hotting up. That’s because interest is also stemming from Italian side Inter Milan.

They ‘strongly appreciate’ Amrabat’s qualities, setting up a potential bidding war in the summer transfer window.

Sport Witness also provide an insight into the player’s stance over a transfer. Despite his spell at Fiorentina only lasting two years, he is already willing to move on.

As such, Spurs and Inter are in a good position to organise personal terms. They just need to agree a transfer fee with Fiorentina first.
