Tottenham: 'Big chance' 333-game star will now be dropped vs Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son is facing a ‘big chance’ of being dropped from Antonio Conte’s starting line-up for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

Spurs could move to the top of the Premier League table by overcoming the Foxes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Conte may overlook one of his big-name attackers.

Son is still searching for his first goal of the season despite starting all eight of Tottenham’s fixtures so far.

The winger has not been on the scoresheet for close to four months as he last found the back of the net when grabbing a brace in the 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City on the final day of last term

Following the £60million acquisition of Richarlison from Everton, during the summer transfer window, Son has been under immense pressure to deliver the goods.

But, having struggled to rediscover his best form, Conte has revealed the 30-year-old could be dropped due to the need to rotate his squad.

Son shared the Premier League’s Golden Boot with Liverpool wide-man Mohamed Salah after scoring 23 goals in the top flight during the 2021/22 season.

Barclay believes there is a serious possibility that Son will be ousted from the starting line-up when Tottenham face Leicester due to his underwhelming run of form.

The journalist feels the former Bayer Leverkusen man would not be able to argue against being dropped by Conte.
