Tottenham: Antonio Conte now facing 'risky moment' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham‘s Fraser Forster making his debut in the north London derby would be a risk for Antonio Conte, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 34-year-old could be thrown in for the trip to Arsenal with Hugo Lloris struggling with a muscle problem ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Forster signed for Spurs on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Southampton, ending his eight-year stay on the South Coast, where he made 134 top-flight appearances.

But the England international has been an unused substitute for every competitive game, with the inform Lloris starting all eight fixtures in the Premier League and Champions League.

However, that could soon change after Lloris suffered a thigh injury ahead of meeting up with the France squad last week.

As a result, Lloris has emerged as a doubt for the game at the Emirates, with his setback potentially giving Forster a chance to make his debut.

But Forster hasn’t played a minute of competitive action for almost five months and Jones reckons it could be a risk for Tottenham in a game of such importance.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The alternative to Lloris is that Fraser Forster comes in for what would be his Tottenham debut in a massive fixture.

“I’m sure Forster will have confidence that he could cope with an occasion like that because that is what you are bought and told to prepare for as a backup goalkeeper, but that’d be a huge moment for him and a risky moment potentially for [Antonio] Conte.”
