Topi Keskinen dons an owl mask as Aberdeen star celebrates winning first Finland cap in peculiar ceremony

Aberdeen newboy Topi Keskinen was involved in a bizarre initiation ceremony to celebrate his first cap with the Finland national team.

The winger - who joined the Dons for around £860,000 from HJK last month - made his senior bow for his country as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat Nations League defeat to Greece on Saturday. And ahead of their second League B game against England on Tuesday night, Keskinen and fellow debutants Adam Stahl, Santeri Haarala and Jani Honkavaara, along with Teemu Taino and Tim Sparv - who have both joined the Finland's coaching staff - took part in the Finns traditional 'Tulokkaiden litto baptism of fire' ceremony.

The six men sported owl masks and imitated the nocturnal animal in front of the rest of their teammates, who could be heard laughing before giving the new boys a round of applause. Keskinen and the others then removed their masks and appeared to look a bit relieved that the ceremony was over.

The 21-year-old has made a bright start to life at Pittodrie under Jimmy Thelin and came off the bench to score a last minute winner for the Dons in their Premier Sports Cup last 16 clash with Queen's Park. Keskinen will be hoping to feature in tonight's clash with England at Wembley. Finland are looking for their first win in the fixture having drawn two and lost nine of the previous nine encounters.
