Top 10 finish for Leona Maguire as Lilia Vu triumphs in Thailand

Leona Maguire saved her best for last as she secured a top 10 finish at the Honda LPGA Thailand, which was won by Lilia Vu.

The Cavan woman got around in 65, hitting seven birdies, to finish six strokes behind Vu in a tie for sixth place.

Maguire's hopes were undone yesterday as she hit five bogeys in seven holes on the way home, but she put it behind her quickly this morning with back-to-back birdies to start her final round.

Another at the seventh moved her to 12 under at the turn, before she repeated the trick on the back nine, with a pair of birdies on the 10th and 11th holes. Two more birdies on the last two ensured a place in the top 10.

American Vu hit the joint-low round of the day - a 64 - to claim her first win on the LPGA Tour, as well as the winner's cheque of just over €240,000.
