Tony Smith outlines what Hull KR need to do to get season back on track

Hull KR coach Tony Smith expects his side's second trip to Toulouse Olympique this season to be similar to the one Rovers experienced on Easter Monday as he prepares for a tough test in difficult conditions. A brace from Ryan Hall and tries from George King, Jordan Abdull and Matty Storton were enough to see off the tenacious French side as Rovers narrowly pipped Olympique 24-28 at the Stade Ernest Wallon.

Rovers have tasted little joy since that Easter victory and head to France under performing and under pressure, with the favourites tag still hanging around their neck in a game they'll be expected to win.

Smith has been full of praise for this week's opponents in outlining what he believes Sylvain Houles' team's strengths and weaknesses are, while making it clear how his team will try to combat that threat on Saturday night.

"They're a really good attacking team," said Smith. "Defensively, sometimes they come unstuck, and they haven't been strong. But they are a handful, we've played them already in France, and they ran us close. They also knocked off St Helens and ran them close the other time, but we are just focusing on each week as it comes."

"They are really effective in everything they do, so we have to limit their chances and take ours when they come. Then, hopefully, we can get back on track."

"We are all desperate for two points and strike to win each week. That's the contest and Super League. They are a big outfit and hard to manage when they have the ball. It will be a tough ask if we keep forcing errors and have to defend for large parts of the game."
