Tony Mowbray makes admission about injured Blackburn Rovers man

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray says attacker Dilan Markanday could feature for the club again this season, if they qualify for the Championship play-offs.

Markanday joined Blackburn from Tottenham on a three-and-a-half-year deal in the January transfer window, for a fee worth around £500,000.

However, the attacker’s debut for the club, as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Hull in January, saw him suffer a serious hamstring injury that has kept him out of action ever since.

As things stand, Blackburn are currently sixth in the Championship table, two points clear of seventh placed Middlesbrough, but have played more games than the sides around them.

The Verdict

It would be a huge boost for Blackburn if they were to have Markanday back for a possible play-off campaign.
