Tony Ferguson warns Conor McGregor he's coming after him as he aims to get career back on track

UFC lightweight Tony Ferguson has sent a warning to Conor McGregor following ridicule from the Irishman after UFC 274.

Way back in late 2017, after Tony Ferguson became the UFC interim lightweight champion, it seemed like just a matter of time before ‘El Cucuy’ and ‘The Notorious’ would meet with the undisputed belt on the line. Ferguson had just defeated Kevin Lee to win the strap and immediately called out the man he dubbed “McNuggets” in his post-fight interview.

Unfortunately, it never came to fruition, and upon fast-forwarding almost five years it’s clear to see that the landscape is very different.

McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg last summer whereas Ferguson fell to his fourth straight defeat last Saturday night after being knocked out by Michael Chandler.

Conor decided to use the aforementioned McNuggets insult to poke fun at Ferguson on social media and, unsurprisingly, the 38-year-old has decided he isn’t going to take that lying down.

There’s no definitive answer to this question but in all likelihood, we’re past the point of McGregor vs Ferguson being a viable match-up.

If Tony had been able to edge past Chandler then there definitely could’ve been a feasible route to it happening, but the best thing for Ferguson right now is for him to take some time off.
