Tonbridge Angels sign midfielder Marcus Sablier from Lewes | Nazir Bakrin and Bailey Akehurst agree new terms while Jamie Fielding joins Ebbsfleet after leaving Longmead

Craig Nelson has made his first signing since taking charge at Tonbridge.

Nelson has been reunited with midfielder Marcus Sablier, who played under the new Angels boss at Lewes last season.

The 22-year-old excelled at the Dripping Pan, winning the supporters’ player-of-the-year award.

He made 47 appearances for the Isthmian Premier outfit in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring six goals.

“Marcus is a gifted young man with a bright future,” Nelson told the Angels website.

“I’ve worked with the gaffer before and I know the standards he sets. It’s a great environment to be part of.

“The club’s got real ambition, from what I’ve seen the fans are passionate, and I’m looking forward to getting started, showing what I can do and helping the team push on this season.”

Defender Nazir Bakrin is staying at Tonbridge after an impressive first season with the club.
