Tommy Fury forced to change trainer ahead of Jake Paul grudge fight

Tommy Fury has been forced to change trainers ahead of his August fight against YouTube sensation Jake Paul.

The two were expected to meet in the ring last December but Fury had to pull out due to injury.

With Fury's dad John barred from America due to visa issues, Fury has turned to Shane McGuigan as his trainer. Son of legend Barry McGuigan, Shane has helped Carl Frampton to world glory in two divisions, guided Josh Taylor to the unified welterweight division and Lawrence Okolie to the WBO cruiserweight title.

Last week there was doubt over the rescheduled fight taking place at all when Paul claimed that Fury's father was threatening to pull out once again, but Fury confirmed on social media that a date had been set. "After weeks and weeks of waiting for Jake Paul to sign up to the drugs testing - and potentially putting the fight at risk - he's finally signed up to the drug testing," Fury said. "We've agreed a contract that we're happy with, so the fight is going ahead and I'll see you August 6."

Brother of recently retired heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Tommy is undefeated 8-0 since donning the gloves and leaving behind his reality TV career. Paul is also yet to suffer defeat in the ring, his record standing at 5-0. Tyson and Paul currently have a $1million bet after the American goaded the Brit into upping his initial bet of £100,000.

“Tyson Fury, who made $40 million last year, is willing to bet $100,000 on his brother. Oh my god. We’re shaking,” Paul said on Twitter. “Hey, Tyson, you f--- p---y, you made $40 million. I know it wasn’t as much as me, but let’s up the ante. Let’s bet a $1 million on it, Tyson. $2 million. $3
