Tomb Raider 2022: When is the Release Date?

Lara Croft, the adventurer, is returning and the gaming community is thrilled.

Crystal Dynamics recently announced that a new Tomb Raider game is in the works, but no concrete details have been revealed, leaving fans with lots of scepticism.

However, the new game is said to be built with the exciting Unreal Engine 5, which is slowly gaining popularity with other upcoming releases across the gaming industry.

The Tomb Raider franchise has a long history, dating back to 1996 when Core Design released the original Tomb Raider game, which was published by Eidos Interactive. In 2013, Crystal Dynamics released Tomb Raider, the first in a series designed to reboot the franchise. The emphasis was shifted toward realism and survival gameplay.

Now, Crystal Dynamics may grant complete freedom to the new Tomb Raider game, with a strong possibility that it will pick up where Shadow of the Tomb Raider left off, taking Miss Croft on a new adventure.

Since the announcement in April, fans have been waiting in anticipation for a clear sign as to when the new game would be released. However, the little information that was revealed by Dallas Dickinson, general manager of the Tomb Raider series, indicated that gamers can only expect an action-adventure experience in this up and coming RPG game, with no hints regarding when Tomb Raider will be launched.
