Tom Rogic post Celtic transfer struggle leaves Harry Kewell 'baffled' as he makes World Cup call up prediction

Celtic assistant Harry Kewell admits he has been left baffled by Tom Rogic' s current situation.

The midfielder said farewell to Parkhaed at the end of the 2021/22 campaign and is still without a club with just a few weeks left in the window. The 29-year-old's lack of playing time could prove to be a huge blow to his hopes of featuring for Australia in the upcoming World Cup. The attacker has already been warned by national coach Graham Arnold that his failure to secure a club could prevent him being called up for the major tournament this winter.

Earlier this summer, there were rumours that Rogic had toyed with the option of retirement. But Celtic assistant Harry Kewell simply can't understand how the former Hoops man and fellow Aussie is struggling for a move after leaving Glasgow's east end in May. Ange Postecoglou 's number two remains a big fan of Rogic, insisting he wants the ex- Celtic player to be part of the Socceroos squad.

Speaking on Fox, Kewell said: "You mention Tom Rogic around Celtic and they all love him. He was a player that a lot of his teammates respected. They enjoyed playing with him.

“I’m a little bit baffled to know what’s happening with him. I hope he sorts himself out and I hope he’s ready, because I’m sure he wants to be there (in Qatar for the World Cup). I’m sure he wants to be part of it, but it’s going to be down to him. He needs to be right mentally and physically if he wants to be part of this Australian squad.”
