Tom Lockyer in: When everyone’s fully fit, is this Luton Town’s best XI on paper?

Currently occupying a Championship play-off place, Luton Town have enjoyed an excellent campaign thus far, with promotion to the Premier League becoming a real possibility.

The Hatters embarked on their third season back in the Championship hoping to surpass last season’s 12th-placed finish, which was an achievement in itself. 

Despite their excellent campaign thus far, Luton have been dealt some big injury blows throughout the course of the season, meaning a near-fully fit squad has been a rarity for Nathan Jones.

As things stand, Luton are without their two main goalkeeping options, forcing the Hatters to delve into the emergency loan market, with Alex Palmer arriving last Friday.

Integral first-teamer in Kal Naismith and Gabe Osho were both missing at the weekend, with Fred Onyedinma also out of the squad. 

Here, we take a look at Luton’s strongest XI when the squad is fully fit. Do you agree? 

Luton have used five goalkeepers already this season, and with Alex Palmer playing just twice, Jed Steer just about pips a starting spot in this side, although, James Shea also deserves an honourable mention.

Reece Burke and Kal Naismith are two of the first names on the team sheet when both are available, with Tom Lockyer starting to show excellent form in recent weeks.

This means that captain Sonny Bradley misses out, and whilst the experienced defender would be pushing hard for a spot in this side, the Hatters defence have seemingly gone up a gear in recent weeks.

Perhaps the two easiest selections in this side come in the wing-back positions, with James Bree and Amari’i Bell taking up spots on the right and left respectively.
