The Luton Town youngsters who will be eyeing a breakthrough season in 22/23

Currently looking to keep a hold of their play-off position in what remains of this Championship season, Luton Town have enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign thus far. 

Nathan Jones’ side have defied expectations all season, going under the radar up until more recent weeks

As a result of their continued success since the turn of the year, the Hatters could still win promotion to the Premier League. 

But, here, we take a look at three Luton Town youngsters who will be eyeing a breakthrough season in the 2022/23 campaign…

Dion Pereira

Enjoying a successful loan stint with Bradford City, Dion Pereira looks like a really exciting talent who Luton fans will be very excited about. 

Possessing excellent ability with the ball at his feet, the young winger has seemingly made a great impression at Valley Parade in the short time he has spent in Yorkshire so far. 

Should Luton remain in the Championship for another year, then Pereira could be eyeing some minutes at first-team level next season, with his time with the Bantams thus far suggesting that he could make the step up. 

Should he continue to progress at Bradford at the rate he currently is, then he could be brought into the first-team set up at Kenilworth Road on a more regular basis during the 22/23 campaign.

Elliot Thorpe 

Elliot Thorpe is another exciting prospect that Luton have in their hands. 

The young midfielder, who rejected a fresh contract offer at Tottenham in search of securing a clearer path to a senior set up, arrived in Bedfordshire in September.

The 21-year-old made his Luton debut during a 3-0 victory over Cambridge United in the FA Cup in February, starting against the club he started his academy youth career with.
