Tom Brady's attempt to befuddle the Eagles in the Super Bowl didn't end well

The ‘Philly Special’ is a play that has gone down in NFL history, but Tom Brady and the New England Patriots could have been the ones to make it famous instead. 

Tom Brady might go down as the greatest quarterback of all time, with a seemingly never-ending list of passing records and accomplishments that he has acquired during his time with both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

There are of course a few other aspects you need to be a quarterback in the NFL besides a good arm, decision making, competitiveness and a lot of other intangible skills. It does also help if you have some good feet to work with to help escape the pocket if things break down or on a designed run that might fool the defence. 

They need good hands too in order to take the snap from centre, especially if they’re taking it from the shotgun formation. However, one thing that a quarterback is rarely asked to do is catch the ball in the open field, and Brady found that out the hard way during Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Literally a game of inches

When you go into a Super Bowl, you need to make sure you have every play available to you. It’s the end of the season with everything on the line so nothing should be considered impossible to pull out of the bag in order to get you that victory.
