Todd Cantwell lives up Rangers synergy with Cyriel Dessers as in form star targets a perfect 6

Rangers star Todd Cantwell believes six of the best can help the Ibrox side salvage their Treble dreams.

Damaging slip ups against Ross County and Dundee have left the Light Blues’ Premiership dreams hanging by a thread with five games to go. But Cantwell is refusing to give up and believes there is still time for Philippe Clement’s Viaplay Cup winners to turn things around. After a week of fierce criticism, the playmaker put on a show of defiance at Hampden last Sunday as he inspired the Ibrox outfit to a 2-0 win over Hearts which means Rangers also have next month’s Scottish Cup Final to look forward to.

The May 25 clash will pit Clement’s squad against table-toppers Celtic as the top two face off in the end-of-season showpiece for the first time in 22 years. And Cantwell reckons Rangers can rescue this season's aims if they treat the five dates before that Hampden shoot out with the same determined approach.

The Englishman - who will be heading to Paisley to face St Mirren on Sunday - said: "We’re looking forward to the cup final. But every game needs to be seen as a final now. We’ve got to win every game. We’ve definitely got the capabilities to do so. I’ll give my absolute best until the end of the season.”

Gers flew out the traps against the Jambos last Sunday, with Cantwell rolling in Cyriel Dessers for the opener after just five minutes. The former Norwich attacker was the driving force again late on as his surging run through the middle cut the Jambos apart before Dessers netted for a second time.
