TNA star KC Navarro recalls competing in Ultimate X match against mentor Amazing Red at Slammiversary

TNA Wrestling star KC Navarro talks to Fox News Digital about competing in Ultimate X at Slammiversary while battling his fear of heights.

KC Navarro narrowly missed out on winning the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship at Slammiversary, but the moment was special nonetheless.

Navarro competed against his mentor, Amazing Red, in the match. Red got the better of him in one of the better sequences of the match. 

Navarro also talked about battling his fear of heights as he tried to make his way up the pillar to climb on the rope and get the title.

"So, this Ultimate X was a lot more special than the first one I was in at Rebellion last year. See, me, I'm not a big fan of heights. So, it actually takes me a while to climb that thing, and I have to see what I'm gonna do," he told Fox News Digital. 

"But this year was very special to me because Amazing Red was in it. A lot of people don't know, but it was set on commentary, Amazing Red was a big mentor for me for my entire career. Somebody I looked up to. I mean, obviously me and him, same stature, you know, he did amazing things, no pun intended, amazing things in the X Division, former X Division champion. And just to be a part of his first match back, it was very special for me.

"I really was grateful that me and him got to have a moment in the ring as well. I know it was very special for him as well. Hope he comes back. That'll be awesome.
