Tipp manager Liam Cahill facing four-week sideline ban following Limerick draw
Tipperary GAA officials are currently reviewing a proposal from the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee to issue a four-week suspension for Liam Cahill after his red card against Limerick on Sunday.
The Tipp boss received the red card from referee Seán Stack near the end of their enthralling Munster SHC clash with Limerick last weekend.
The card was issued to the Tipp boss after a line-ball was awarded to Limerick, a decision which Cahill contested.
The Central Competitions Control Committee made contact with the Tipp board, confirming the proposed ban.
If the suspension is accepted, The Premier boss will not be allowed to train or communicate with the team or management before or during Sunday’s Munster SHC final round clash with Waterford in Thurles.
The same constraints would apply should Tipp make the Munster final against Clare on 11 June, which could be played in either Limerick or Cork.
Rule 7.5 (a) (6) (b) states: "In the case of a team official, from acting in any capacity at a game(s) in a specified competition, including extra-time when played.
This involves the team official concerned being debarred from the Pitch Enclosure before and during the game and from managing, directing, assisting, or communicating with their team in any way before or during the game."
