Timm thrilled to silence the critics after MTN8 triumph with Bucs

Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm believes his man-of-the-match performance in the MTN8 final victory over AmaZulu has proven his doubters wrong.

Timm has been a crucial cog in the heartbeat of the Pirates' midfield since his pre-season switch from Maritzburg United and now has a major trophy medal to his name.

The 30-year-old was visibly emotional at the post-match press conference of Pirates' 1-0 win courtesy of Monnapule Saleng's strike and said it was by far the proudest moment of his career.

At the same time, he is delighted to have silenced his doubters.

"There were a lot of emotions. I'm so happy, and it feels like I'm dreaming, but it's happening. To win like this, I can't compare it with anything so far in my career," he said.

"I don't pay attention to what people are saying, but I did hear [things] here and there, and that's okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I know what I do every day and how I live my life.

"I know some people were not happy, but it is my career, my decision and my choice which I decided to make. I was excited about the challenge, and I knew it was not going to be easy.

"You guys saw I didn't play in the first few games. I waited for my chance, and I kept working. I'm supportive even if I don't play.

"I'm always there for my team, and that's the brotherhood we have, and that's going to take us a long way."
