Tiger Woods to make return at The Masters

Tiger Woods is all set to make his return to professional golf at this week's Masters.

"As of right now, I feel like I am going to play," the 15-time major champion announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

Woods, 46, first raised hopes that he could make a remarkable return at Augusta National when he made a quick trip to the course to play a practice round with son Charlie and close friend, and world No 7, Justin Thomas last week to test out his fitness.

Clearly encouraged, the American returned to Augusta and was seen on the driving range on Sunday, before drawing a massive crowd on Monday during a practice round with Thomas and Fred Couples.

Woods is continuing his recovery from serious leg injuries he suffered in a car crash in February 2021, and after previously playing down his chances of making an imminent return to professional golf, stated that he will be teeing it up at the Masters on Thursday.

Woods has won five of his 15 majors at the Masters, including his most recent in 2019 when he completed a previously remarkable comeback from career-threatening back injuries.
