Thunderbirds improve to 8-1 with win over Warriors

HALIFAX — Austin Shanks scored three goals and added an assist to help the Halifax Thunderbirds defeat the Vancouver Warriors 14-12 in the National Lacrosse League on Saturday.

The Thunderbirds have won five in a row and improved to 8-1.

Chris Boushy and Clarke Petterson each scored twice and added three assists for Halifax. Kyle Jackson and Eric Fannell added two goals and one assist apiece.

Riley Loewen led Vancouver (5-5) with five goals and an assist. Kyle Killen had four goals and an assist.
