Three people reportedly in hospital including one with suspected stab wounds after incident in Alkrington

Three men have reportedly been injured following a suspected stabbing in Alkrington.

Reports suggest that one man has been taken to hospital with stabbing injuries and two other men are in hospital with injuries from the same incident. None are believed to be in critical condition.

There was a large police presence at the scene on the Alkrington Moss estate from around 6.30pm this evening, it’s understood.

It is understood that it is an isolated incident with no wider risk to the local community.

Posting on social media, Councillor Dylan Williams said: “I have had a number of concerned residents contact me about an alleged stabbing on The Moss/ The Meadows Alkrington this evening with a large police presence in the area earlier this evening. With conflicting reports of one or multiple stabbings taking Place.

“I would like to offer reassurance to the local community that I have contacted Greater Manchester Police and spoken to one of the Inspectors based at Rochdale.

“They have confirmed that one male is in hospital with stabbing injuries and a further two other males are also in hospital with injuries from this incident. None are believed to be in a critical condition.

“The police are still investigating what has gone on, but advised they believe this is an isolated incident between these 3 people and do not believe at this stage there is any risk to the local community.
