Three men arrested after brawl breaks out outside Salford university accommodation block

Three men were arrested after a brawl broke out outside a university accommodation block in Salford.

Police were called to the 'disturbance' outside Tramways student accommodation on Frederick Road at around 10pm last night (Tuesday). They found a 'small group of men fighting', a spokesperson for the force said.

The fight was 'diffused' and the injuries reported 'were not life-threatening'. Three men were arrested at the scene.

A 31-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assault. A 41-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft.

All three suspects remain in custody to be quizzed by detectives. Last night, pictures showed several emergency services vehicles stationed on Frederick Road.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 10pm on Tuesday 4 October 2022, we were called to a disturbance on Frederick Road, Salford about a small group of men fighting. Injuries reported are believed not to be life-threatening after officers responded to diffuse the situation.

"A 31-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assault. Whilst a 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft.

"All remain in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing at this time to understand the full circumstances."
