Threave Rovers make good start to pre-season friendlies

Threave Rovers have made a good start to their friendlies under new boss Danny Dunglinson.

On Saturday they won 3-1 at Carlisle City.

That came on the back of a 3-0 win over Abbey Vale last Tuesday.

Dunglinson said: The friendlies have been really good. The result’s not overly important but it’s still nice to get a couple of wins early on and get into the habit.

The new lads are mates with a lot of the boys that were there anyway so it’s been easy for them to settle in. On the park they’ve all done really well.

“There’s potential for one more, he was coming to training this week but he has a couple of offers.”

Threave are at home to Whitely Bay on Saturday before facing Upper Annandale on Wednesday.

Creetown have also started their friendlies and beat Moneyslane 3-1 at Castle Cary Park on Saturday.

Josh Rennie, Lewis Dunn and John Lowe got the goals.

Youngsters Keir Halliday and Kerr Lyon have signed deals with Jamie Adams’ side after impressing in pre-season.
