Threave Rovers assistant admits life in the West of Scotland League is trip into the unknown
Threave Rovers assistant gaffer Kevin Somerville admits he doesn’t know what to expect as they begin life in the West of Scotland League.
After quitting the South at the end of last season, the Castle Douglas side start their campaign in the fourth division of the West in Paisley against Glenvale on Saturday.
And it promises to be a whole new world for the players and coaching staff.
Somerville said: “We’ve got no idea what this league is going to be like in terms of the quality or the standard.
“Some of the teams in our league have been beating teams from a division or two above in pre-season, which is what we’ve been doing, so I think it’ll be tough.
“We need to see what the results are like in the first four or five games and then see where we are.
“Saturday is a trip into the unknown. We’ve looked at a few of their results in pre-season and they have had good results against teams from higher leagues.
