Thousands of illegal vapes worth £47k seized from Strangeways

Thousands of illegal vapes worth a staggering £47,000 were seized by police from a premises in Strangeways on Tuesday (November 7).

3,132 of the counterfeit electronic cigarettes were taken off the streets by officers from the Strangeways Neighbourhood team and Trading Standards after the property was searched on Harris Street.

Greater Manchester Police said the 'dedicated efforts', including working with the council, are 'to tackle the distribution of these illegal items into the community'.

Inspector Antonia Jackson of GMP's Cheetham Hill Neighbourhood Team said: "The seizure today is a great result for Greater Manchester Police and our partners as it means thousands of potentially harmful products have been taken off the streets of Greater Manchester."
