Thomas Tuchel can sign Chelsea's own Virgil van Dijk if Todd Boehly beats Barcelona to £30m deal

Ally McCoist has already told Todd Boehly how Kalidou Koulibaly can have the same impact at Chelsea as Virgil van Dijk has had at Liverpool. The Napoli defender, who has drawn comparisons to the Liverpool defender in the past, is heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with his contract at the Italian side set to expire at the end of next season.

The 30-year-old has been offered to the Blues by his agent Fali Ramadani ahead of the summer, according to Area Napoli, as quoted by Sport Witness. The report claims that the west Londoners are one of the many leading sides in Europe to have been offered his services.

Koulibaly, who has drawn comparisons to Van Dijk in the past, has featured 25 times for Luciano Spalletti's side in the Serie A this season, steering Gli Azzurri towards a title charge. McCoist believes that the Senegal international could have a similar impact if he were to arrive in the Premier League.

"In that, I include Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man City definitely need to strengthen in the centre-back position, and I also think Manchester United need to strengthen there."

"The name I keep going back to is the lad Koulibaly at Napoli, who has impressed for a long, long time now," he added. "I think he is the one target a lot of top Premier League clubs would and should be looking at."
