Former West Indies cricket team all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who is currently the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing IPL 2025, was left fuming by the decision taken by Cricket West Indies (CWI) to remove Rovman Powell as the T20I captain. CWI announced on Monday that Shai Hope will be replacing Rovman as the T20I captain. Bravo lashed out at the cricket board for the decision and took to social media platform Instagram to express his concerns. Rovman is currently part of the KKR squad as well.
"@windiescricket once again you guys prove to the people of the Caribbean and the cricket world that the injustices towards players continues! As a former player and a fan of WI cricket," Bravo posted.
"This is easily one of the worst decisions ever @ravipowell52 taking over captaincy when our T20 team was in 9th spot and was able to move up to 3rd sport in the rankings and this is how you guys repay him, the bad treatment towards players when would it Stop! This is so sad on all levels..make it make sense! SMH," he added.
Kraigg Brathwaite has stepped down as skipper of the West Indies Test team after four years in charge, Cricket West Indies (CWI) said on Monday after a shift in leadership roles saw Shai Hope taking over captaincy of the T20I side.

Brathwaite, 32, was appointed as West Indies' Test captain in place of Jason Holder in March 2021.
Hope, who is also the team's ODI skipper, replaced Rovman Powell for T20I captaincy. Powell has led the T20 side since May 2023.
