Thierry Henry namechecks Aberdeen FC as Jamie Carragher quizzed on the greatest ever

Thierry Henry dropped Aberdeen into the conversation with Jamie Carragher as the Sky Sports pundits poured over the candidates to name the greatest manager ever.

No conversation about the best coaches of all-time is ever complete without the great Sir Alex Ferguson who won 49 trophies during his near-40 year career - making him the most successful in British football history. He's best known worldwide for his unrepeatable tenure as Manchester United manager that yielded 13 league titles, but it was the Dons who put him on the map.

The 1983 European Cup Winners' Cup success is heralded as one of the greatest achievement ever by a manager on British soil and for Ferguson, who also won three league titles with the Dons, it was his first taste of continental glory. And, for Carragher, it was his time at Pittodrie that broke a tiebreak between him and Pep Guardiola to be crowned the best to EVER do it.

On a feature on Sky Sports' social media channels, Henry put Carragher through his paces to name the best manager of all time. He rhymed off the names and played winner stays on - with Carragher picking Guardiola ahead of Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp, Carlo Ancelotti and a who's who of top coaches.

But when it got to Ferguson, there was much to consider. Carragher paused and said: "I'm going to with Sir Alex Ferguson over Pep, because..." then Henry cut in: "He did it with Aberdeen."

Carragher agreed and went on: "Yeah. Pep is probably never going to do that or take a team like that. So I'm going to go with Sir Alex Ferguson."
