Thierry Henry insists Man United need to deliver no matter the coach

Thierry Henry has slammed Manchester United's players as he insisted they needed to step up and stop blaming the club's managers.

United took on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 clash on Wednesday evening but could only scrape a 1-1 draw, relying on teenager Anthony Elanga to rescue them with a late equaliser.

The Red Devils' struggles have been well-documented this season with results failing to improve under interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

The German was brought in to turn the Red Devils' season around following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but United have endured another series of disappointing results and he is said to have lost the support of the squad's 'leading heavyweights'.

But Arsenal legend Henry insisted that the squad needed to stop turning against their coaches as he accused them of having an issue with every one of the club's recent managers.

'I don't like usually to have a go at players but you had a teacher like Louis van Gaal, who is successful,' Henry said via CBS.

'They called Mourinho 'Dictator' because he was too much into this, too much into that. He was too direct with the players. They players didn't like it.
