Thierry Henry was extraordinary during his eight-year spell at Arsenal.
There were question marks surrounding Arsene Wenger’s decision to sign Henry in 1999 for £11 million.
Henry had underwhelmed during his spell at Juventus and Wenger had to defend his decision to sign him to the media.
Wenger was convinced he was worth the transfer fee and it turned out he was worth every penny.
Henry scored 226 times for Arsenal as he established himself as one of the best players in the club’s history.
The forward produced countless incredible performances for the Gunners. One of his best came against Real Madrid in the Champions League in 2006.
On February 21, 2006, Arsenal travelled to the Bernabeu for their Champions League last-16 first leg tie.
Arsenal were looking to become the first ever English team to win at the Bernabeu. They did just that thanks to a masterclass from Henry.
Arsenal’s main man was unplayable that day. He scored the only goal of the game in the 47th minute.
