Thibaut Courtois has played down talk of Real Madrid being fortunate to progress into the last four of the Champions League after a dramatic two-legged tie against his former team Chelsea.
Los Blancos eventually dumped the reigning champions out of the competition, but not without the Blues putting up quite the fight as they were tasked with overturning a 3-1 deficit from the first leg at Stamford Bridge. Having been kept eerily quiet for the majority of the 90 minutes prior, Chelsea failed to nullify Karim Benzema in extra-time and the Frenchman's 96th minute header was eventually enough to send the hosts through despite a valiant effort from their visitors.
