Thiago Silva's wife defends Chelsea centre-back after Brentford loss
Chelsea 1-4 Brentford might just be the most shocking result of the Premier League season so far.
The Blues came into the match looking to cement their third-place position despite everything that’s happening off the pitch.
There was a small protest outside Stamford Bridge ahead of the game against potential new owners the Ricketts family.
But it looked as though the players would do their talking on the pitch when Antonio Rudiger scored a 30-yard screamer to put them 1-0 ahead minutes into the second half.
However, six minutes later, they were 2-1 down.
Vitaly Janelt equalised before Christian Eriksen continued his incredible week to put Brentford 2-1 ahead.
Chelsea then fell apart as Janelt grabbed another on the hour mark before Yoane Wissa came off the bench to compound a miserable afternoon for Chelsea.
Not one Chelsea player could leave the pitch with their head held high after such an embarrassing result.
Defender Thiago Silva was one of the players who received criticism with the Brazilian looking his age for once this season.
But if you even start to question his performance, you’ll have his wife to answer to.
That’s because Belle Silva, who is very focal on social media, hit back at a TV commentator who apparently criticised Thiago for not ‘attacking’ enough.
In an Instagram video, Belle said:
“I’m here in my box at Stamford Bridge. I just listened right now to the commentator, who said that Thiago Silva is not attacking enough,” she said.
“Respect Thiago Silva because Thiago Silva arrived yesterday, Thiago Silva played for Brazil, Thiago Silva is very tired, Thiago Silva is 37 years old, he plays like he is 20 years old.
“So respect him, he’s not a machine. He needs to relax, alright?”
