“They told me to get ready for the ride” – Elijah Adebayo speaks out on massive few weeks for Luton Town

The Hatters currently sit 5th in the Championship table ahead of this evening’s crunch clash with Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers are directly above Nathan Jones’ side, with only one point separating the sides.

There are only five more league games following Monday night’s tie, with both sides chasing a top six finish.

But Adebayo, who has 15 goals this season, is hoping Luton can pull off something special to earn a Premier League promotion.

“When I joined, they told me to get ready for the ride,” said Adebyao, via Luton Today.

“I believe that this is that part of that ride, and I would say I am thoroughly enjoying it at the moment.

“All the things we’ve got, desire, hard work, togetherness, fighting for each other, I think that’s what we’ve done throughout the whole season and something we’d do regardless.

“We want to do something special, something the fans can remember.

“We’re doing our jobs on the football pitch and they’re doing their job in getting behind us.

“This is why they come here; this is why we play 46 games to get to this point.

“Everyone wants to get to the end of the season and have something to fight for.”

This is Adebayo’s second season with the club since arriving from Walsall in January 2021.

The forward scored five goals in the second half of last season having made the jump from League One to the second division.

Luton will be looking to return to winning ways this evening having drawn their last two Championship matches.

But Jones’ side are in the middle of a four game winning run, having won the previous two games.
